Amrita School of Engineering (ASE), Coimbatore was established on 1994.It has the distinction of being Amrita’s first center for higher learning. ASE is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC. The Amrita Institute of Technology and Science, it offered B.E. programs to cater to the increasing needs of technical manpower in the country. The School offers B.Tech and M.Tech programs in various disciplines. In addition, it offers programs leading to the MCA degree. Ph.D. is offered in Engineering and Sciences.
The School of Engineering have organized various national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, colloquia, contests, training programs, etc. during the last five years. The goal of the school is to make its programs the best in the country based on a focused approach with respect to the critical areas of curriculum, teaching-learning, student support, infrastructure and research. The Institute has it’s Campuses located at Amritapuri, Bangalore and Coimbatore.

Amrita School of Engineering was started in 1994 in Coimbatore. In 2002, two additional Schools of Engineering were established in Amritapuri and Bengaluru. The Schools of Engineering are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The course curriculum is credit-based, and syllabus is industry and research oriented. All three Schools offer B. Tech., M. Tech. and Ph. D. programs in a large number of disciplines. Apart from this, Amrita School of Engineering, Vengal (Chennai) is proposed for the next academic year.

NAAC ‘A’ GRADE FROM GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
Amrita University was the youngest university to be awarded with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body established in 1994 by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country. To be eligible to apply for the NAAC accreditation, an educational institution should have completed five years. RANKINGS
In the 12th edition of the annual rankings released, Amrita University has been placed in the list of 601-800 category. The 2015 ranking features universities in 70 countries and seventeen Indian higher education institutions have featured in the list of the world’s best universities. The rankings are partly based on publication, citation data and key performance indicators relating to research, teaching, knowledge transfer and international activity. NATIONAL INSTITUTE RANKING FRAMEWORK (NIRF)
NIRF has been accepted by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister for Human Resource Development on September 29, 2015. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. Amrita University established under section 3 of UGC Act of 1956 offers more than 150 professional programs through 15 schools across 5 different campuses in 3 South Indian states. WEBOMETRICS RANKING OF WORLD UNIVERSITIES
The “Webometrics Ranking of World Universities” is a ranking system for the world’s universities based on a composite indicator that takes into account both the volume of the web contents (number of web pages and files) and the visibility and impact of these web publications according to the number of external inlinks (site citations) received. The ranking is published by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group of the Spanish National Research Council – Consejo Superior de Investigaciones CientÃficas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. Placement Cell at Amrita School of Engineering :
The Directorate for Corporate and International Relations (CIR), an important arm of Amrita University, facilitates learning and development and placements of students through focused and well-structured programmes that supplement the students’ academic curriculum, besides cultivating a close relationship with industry and the corporate world. Nearly all the major companies in India visit Amrita University for placements. These include multinational companies as well as Indian companies with a global footprint. Companies from other countries, especially from the Middle East, also recruit students from Amrita.
